The Horse Mill, situated in the end of Lai Street, has been used as a theatre venue since 2003. Built in the 14th Century, the circular Horse Mill was designed for grinding grain with the help of horses, whereas at later times it was used a command post for artillery and a storage room for St Olaf’s Church. From 2003 a number of productions have premiered at the Horse Mill and it’s also the location for Tallinn City Theatre’s concert series. In addition, the venue has welcomed guest performers and lots of other events. In 2017 the building was thoroughly renovated and new technical equipment was installed.
