We live our lives. We wake up, wash ourselves, eat, go to work and school, drive to our summer homes, to the forest. Everything is normal. We walk by the posters that warn us not to forget our pets. We nod, because we understand the message. We try to be sensitive only to discover that someone else is always responsible. We try to hold on to our sense of time, but we feel that everything is always repeating. Life is a never ending return, in which something is a bit different, but not different enough. Things happen, but not to us.
Until something has to give. The mirror, from which we are so used to seeing ourselves, shatters. The shards fall and we no longer understand how it happened. The poster, which seemed so complete, is torn to shreds.
Am I at fault or is someone else? How far can we get with a herd mentality? And is it even a mentality or a state of being – waiting for someone else to take responsibility?
