„Vacation” is a story about people, who coincidentally meet on a hot beach on vacation.
Mikk Jürjens: „What even is a „vacation”? For some, it may be barely recovering from hard work, for someone else, it is just laying around, for some, a change of pace, or even someone’s Hail Mary. It could be an unexpected meeting with one’s own self or a chance to finally meet someone new. I named „Vacation” a comedy for a ceaselessly restless mind, because once we finally make it from the endless winter to a warmer place abroad to sit and enjoy the hot sand and blazing sun, we can see ourselves and our lives through a magnifying glass. And then we remember what Charlie Chaplin once so aptly said: „Life is a tragedy when seen in closeup, but a comedy in longshot””.
The production includes many songs in the ancient Sardinian polyphonic cantu a tenore style.
