After the death of an elderly German man, his children have come together to take care of his belongings. However, an unexpected item discovered from the attic leads to conflicting opinions, and suddenly the family members find themselves in a passionate ideological debate. Through the lense of one family, “Nachtland” takes a look at the situation of the Western world, approaching sensitive and important topics. It’s a battle between ambitions and moral justice, permissiveness and morality, raw stubbornness and intelligence. A battle where there can only be one winner… the viewer.
