Fahrenheit 451

Author:
Ray Bradbury / Diana Leesalu
Director:
Diana Leesalu

Ray Bradbury wrote “Fahrenheit 451” in 1953. The novel that has predicted the future in quite many ways is considered his most notable work. Diana Leesalu’s production of the same name could be called an allegorical fairy tale about a society that has fallen into a deep lethargy of pleasures created by screens and technology. Everything that could cause discontent, questions, yearning or a wish for change is forbidden. Especially books. The lead character Montag works as a firefighter. But the firefighters have a new role since buildings have long become fireproof. They burn books, that some antisocial people are still secretly trying to hold on to. As a law-abiding citizen, Montag has never opened a single one of them. One day he meets a strange young girl who makes him wonder, what those books really contain…
