“You’ll never know what it’s like until it happens to you.”

Two members of a group of lawyers find themselves involved in the same court case, one as a prosecutor and the other as a defence attorney. Whether justice will prevail in court or not is not really for them to judge, and it is easy to maintain a detached professional attitude when dissecting the lives of others. However, the court case spills over into their personal lives, where hidden tensions emerge and the line between the victim and the perpetrator is not as clear as it may seem.

“Consent”, written by British playwright and director Nina Raine in 2017, is a contemporary relationship drama. Its realistic dialogue confronts different interpretations, raising questions about the possibility of true justice.
