Ulysses, a reclusive poet struggling with illness and poverty, spends his days in a trailer park in a remote village. One day, out of the blue, his ex-wife Emma knocks on the door of his trailer, whom he hasn’t seen in twenty years. “Annapurna” is a story of a broken family, a play that is both funny and sad. A story involving love, loss, complicated relationships, painful memories, and making peace with the past. Some long-standing questions will get answers, but as always in life, some things remain unresolved.
Sharr White is an American playwright. Several of White’s plays have been staged on Broadway, and he has been a producer and writer for various television series. The premiere of “Annapurna” was in San Francisco in 2011, followed by a performance in New York, Off-Broadway, in 2014.
