In 2018, the biannual theatre festival Midwinter Night’s Dream celebrated a small anniversary – the festival took place for the 10th time in December 9th -15th 2018. Festival focused on one single director, the masterful Alvis Hermanis whose work for us in Tallinn City Theatre is novel in form, but close in spirit. Festival's programme contained five of Hermanis works: "Brodsky/Baryshnikov", "Long Life", "Oblomov", "Latvian Love" and "Black Milk".

In cooperation with Golden Mask in Estonia, another Hermanis production "Stories of Shukshin" performed by Theatre of Nations (Moscow) was part of festival's side programme.

As festival's side programme, Alvis Hermanis book "Diary" Estonian translation was presented in Tallinn City Theatre. During the festival week, meetings with director Alvis Hermanis, Riga New Theatre actors and Estonian theatre critics took place in Tallinn City Theatre. Also, Irina Belobrovtseva presented a lecture about Joseph Brodsky and his work. On the last day of the festival, official afterparty took place, where Tallinn City Theatre's actors, Estonian band Miljardid and Latvian band Carnival Youth performed.

10th Midwinter Night's Dream was the most successful of the history of the festival: over 6100 people had a chance to see the wonderful productions of Alvis Hermanis.
